SUMMARY:2nd Microbiome Movement – Animal Health & Nutrition Summit
DESCRIPTION:As scientific researchers continue to investigate the complexities of the animal microbiome\, our mission for the 2nd Microbiome Movement – Animal Health & Nutrition Summit is simple: Unite pioneering industry and academic researchers to lay out the foundational framework around the unique scientific and translational challenges involved in developing and commercializing nutritional and therapeutic solutions that harness the animal microbiome to improve performance and overall health. \nOur conversations have highlighted that although a strong commercial opportunity exists\, there are critical areas of basic science that need addressing including demonstrating causality of the animal gut microbiome\, understanding the impact of antibiotics\, integrating –omics approaches with robust study programs that demonstrate product efficacy\, as well as navigating regulatory\, IP and commercialization pathways to ensure product success. \nIf you’re keen to make sense of animal microbiome science and its application in both the pet and livestock industries\, join your scientifically-driven peers from the nutritional\, pharmaceutical and academic community to help you create safe and effective microbiome-targeted products that improve animal health and nutrition.

SUMMARY:Exploring Human Host-Microbiome Interactions in Health and Disease
DESCRIPTION:The 8th Exploring Human Host-Microbiome Interactions in Health and Disease meeting will once again bring together leading scientists and clinicians from the fields of microbiology\, gastroenterology\, neuroscience\, cancer and public health to discuss the latest developments in this fast-moving area. \nRecent studies have revealed the complexity of the gut microbial ecology and its network connectivity to the metabolic regulation of important pathways in the host. Studies on microbiota from various body sites are helping us to understand how microorganisms affect the host. Alterations in microbiome composition have been associated with many non-infectious diseases including inflammatory bowel conditions\, autoimmune diseases\, cancers and diabetes\, although in many cases causality has yet to be established. \nThis meeting will update current knowledge of how various microbiomes (skin\, oral\, gut\, lung\, non-bacterial etc.) communicate with the host and the factors that influence these interactions. The programme will feature new developments enabled by metagenomics\, metabonomics and other technologies. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in discussions on how to apply recent discoveries to disease processes\, health restoration and maintenance. \nThis year’s meeting will also include sessions on the effects of the microbiome on cancer and how the immune system influences the microbiome and vice versa. As in previous years\, the warm welcome given to students and the open friendly atmosphere provide attendees with an enjoyable conference.

SUMMARY:Microbiome R&D and Business Collaboration Forum: USA
DESCRIPTION:Over 100 presentations will be given at the 2019 US series. Over two days discover more about novel research and development trends\, explore business and commercialisation strategies\, and discover how to translate findings into viable products through collaborative partnerships and funding opportunities. With a focus on metabolic functioning\, autoimmune and inflammatory disorders\, the gut-brain axis and the relationship between the microbiome and cancer\, explore the composition of the gut microbiome\, and the tools and technologies used to study microbial communities. This meeting has a reputation for providing an outstanding networking experience in which new collaborations between industry and academia are forged to better translate research into clinical trials. Plus\, you will have ample opportunity to review more than 40 poster presentations and meet with 30+ exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services.
